GENERAL INTRODUCTION TO IO-LINK
Target group
The course is targeting technical personnel who will be involved in operation of equipment, installation, and maintenance of IO link solutions.
Prerequisites
User of Windows based PCs.
Basic knowledge regarding ethernet and/or profinet networks.
Course content
The course will cover topics such as:
• Introduction to the communication technology
• Hardware design principles
• Types and manufacturers of IO-link hardware
• Introduction to IO link devices
• IO-link and industry 4.0
• Available cyclic data communication to/from Siemens PLC
• Accessing acyclic data from a web-browser
• Accessing acyclic data from a Siemens PLC
• Practical exercises in connecting/replacing components
• Practical exercises in setup of IO-link master and IODD files
• Practical exercises in setup of IO-link master and Siemens PLC
• Strategy of fault finding
• Troubleshooting/Diagnostics
• Practical exercises on IO-link stands
Objectives
Upon completion of this course the attendant will have obtained:
• Basic understanding of IO link
• Skills in installation of IO link master and devices
• Skills in diagnostics of IO link systems via web-browser tools

This course runs with min. 4 max. 10 participants.

Available in UK (Newport), Sweden (Vimmerby) and Denmark (Silkeborg & Hillerød)
In Denmark the course is conducted in Danish (English on request) – all material in English
