Target group
The course is for process and quality managers, production managers and decision-makers who want a basic insight into how AI can be used to create improved efficiency, better decisions and higher quality in the process industry.
Course content
The course provides a general introduction to AI and points out the most important areas where it can be used to optimize production – based on the process industry.
Participants gain theoretical insights which are combined with practical exercises to show how AI can be used to gain overview, new insights and make actual improvements.
- What is AI?
- Types of AI and their practical application in production.
- Prerequisites for success – why, what is the goal and what is the success criteria.
- What is required to get started – organization, data and competencies
- The Analysis Ladder – why do many AI projects fail?
- Data – types of data, what data is needed, and how is quality ensured?
- On-premise or Cloud? – pros, cons and security
- Products and specific real-world cases.
- Practical exercises – ChatBots (LLM) and simple AI tool demonstrated on production data
Objectives
Upon completing the course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the main types of AI and their applications in manufacturing
- Identify where AI can create value in your own company
(e.g. efficiency, quality, sustainability) - Assess what data and framework is needed to get started
- See the difference between hype and realistic possibilities
- Know about typical pitfalls and how they can be avoided
Prerequisites
No prior knowledge of AI is required.
Familiarity with basic data analysis is an advantage but not mandatory.
Practical information
This course runs with min. 4 max. 10 participants.
We reserve the right to cancel/postpone the course if not fulfilled.
