Target group
The course is targeting technical personnel/service personnel with responsibility for service and maintenance of PLC/HMI systems from Siemens, and who need a quick introduction to the Siemens TIA portal programming/service tools.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge regarding automation technology and equipment.
User of Windows based PCs.
Basic introduction to Siemens PLC/HMI equipment and related Siemens TIA portal programming tools.
The course will focus on Siemens S7-400 and S7-1500 PLCs and Siemens touch panels.
The course will cover topics such as:
• Introduction to Siemens PLC & HMI equipment
• Introduction to Siemens TIA portal
• Introduction to Siemens Step 7 programming for PLCs
• Introduction to Siemens WinCC configuration for HMI panels
• Introduction to addressing of modules/equipment
• Configuration of hardware/connections
• Introduction to Step 7 basic functions
• Introduction to WinCC basic functions
• Step 7 programming examples in LAD & STL
• WinCC (for HMI) configuration examples
• Programming of small PLC & HMI applications
• Download & test of configuration & applications
• Fault finding
Objectives
Upon completion of this course the attendant will have obtained:
• Basic understanding of Siemens PLC/HMI equipment and programming tools
• Skills in diagnostics and fault finding in Siemens Step 7 programs
• Skills to download and test minor extensions in Siemens PLC & HMI applications
