Target group
The course is targeting technical personnel/service personnel with responsibility for service and maintenance of PLC/HMI systems from Rockwell Automation/Allen Bradley, and who need a quick introduction to Rockwell Automation programming/service tools.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge regarding automation technology and equipment.
User of Windows based PCs.
Course content
Basic introduction to Allen Bradley PLC/HMI equipment and related Rockwell Automation Studio 5000 programming tools. The course will focus on Allen Bradley CompactLogix PLCs and PanelView touch panels.
The course will cover topics such as:
• Introduction to Allen Bradley PLC & HMI equipment
• Introduction to Rockwell Automation Studio 5000 design environment
• Introduction to Rockwell Automation RSLogix programming for PLCs
• Introduction to Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk configuration for HMI panels
• Introduction to addressing of modules/equipment
• Configuration of hardware/connections
• RSLogix programming examples in LAD
• FactoryTalk (for HMI) configuration examples
• Programming of small PLC & HMI applications
• Download & test of configuration & applications
• Fault finding
Objectives
Upon completion of this course the attendant will have obtained:
• Basic understanding of Allen Bradley PLC/HMI equipment and programming tools
• Skills in diagnostics and fault finding in RSLogix programs
• Skills to download and test minor extensions in Allen Bradley PLC & HMI applications
